Life at its core is simple.
But as humans, its our nature to make things complicated. Most therapy and healing tends to involve stripping away the layers of complications we have taken on over the years. We make our life complicated.
Sure, the world is fallen and things happen outside our causation - disease, etc. But most of our problems tend to be self inflicted.
Clearing the mind and focusing on essentials - the teachings of Jesus, which more often than not come down to Him saying to us - I have authority over everything and I love you, I even died for you, so trust me and love those around you.
Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.
